Sustainability

The LOCAL15 production principle

Sustainability starts with short distances – from the clay pit to distribution. Everything within a 15-kilometre radius.

The LOCAL15 production principle

Why sustainability?

For many customers, sustainability has become a decisive purchasing argument. That makes it increasingly important for garden centres and DIY stores to assemble their range according to environmentally friendly criteria.

How we understand sustainability

As a family business, we care deeply about resource-conserving raw material sourcing as well as the production and distribution of our clay products. For us, sustainability is more than a trend.

01

Raw materials

The raw materials used in our clay and ceramic products come from the Westerwald and are renowned for their quality. They are natural and free of harmful substances. The pit operators' responsibility does not end with the extraction of the clay – it also includes the careful renaturation of the area.

02

Production

Production also takes place in the Westerwald at Spang – transport distances are minimal. A comprehensive concept for saving energy and raw materials is implemented there: recycling of broken material, solar power and special exhaust filters protect the environment. Hardly any waste arises from manufacturing.

03

Distribution

Distribution also takes place in the Westerwald. Paperless purchasing and logistics processes make cooperation smooth and environmentally friendly. The clay and ceramic goods are assembled individually to order and carefully packed – supporting the regional economy and keeping the ecological footprint small.
